Iowa OB/GYN concerned about abortion law exceptions
DES MOINES, Iowa (Gray Television Iowa Capitol Bureau) - Iowans are still waiting to hear when the state’s abortion law will take effect. The Iowa Supreme Court has yet to decide whether or not they’re going to rehear the case. If they say no, the case will get kicked to the District Court where a judge will set the date on when to lift the pause. Friday the judge told attorneys in the case he’ll give a few days notice before lifting the injunction.
Salute to Veterans Set for July 25th in Algona
–The Lakota based Hunting with Heroes organization has once again lined up a “Salute to Veterans” night at 3 different racetracks across Iowa, with those set to take place next week. Hunting with Heroes Co-Founder Bernie Becker tells KLGA News they will have 10 different cars sporting special, patriotic themed wraps at each track, to go along with a free meal for local veterans.

The law that bans most abortions in Iowa could take effect as soon as today. Iowa’s law bans abortions once fetal cardiac activity is detected. That’s usually around six weeks, before some women know they’re pregnant. Planned Parenthood will continue to provide abortions in the narrower window set by the law. Planned Parenthood is expanding operations at its health centers near state lines in places like Omaha, Nebraska.

ADDITIONAL NEUROLOGY CLINIC AT FLOYD VALLEY HEALTHCARE. Floyd Valley Healthcare announces that Dr. Mei He will begin providing an additional neurology clinic beginning Friday, July 19. This will complement the clinic currently offered by Maria Azpeitia, NP, CNOS. Floyd Valley Healthcare is partnering with CNOS to provide the additional clinic. Dr. He is a board-certified neurologist specializing in general neurology, sleep medicine, clinical neurophysiology and vascular ultrasound from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
