Fordyce Strong Benefit Softball Tournament raises over $20,000
On Saturday, the Fordyce community held its first Fordyce Strong Benefit Softball Tournament to help raise money for victims and survivors of last month’s mass shooting at the Mad Butcher grocery store.Ten people during the mass shooting on June 21st, and the first Fordyce Strong Benefit Softball Tournament provides relief the victims and their families. “This is well overdue for Fordyce. Especially in this town of Fordyce, I always heard that sports is a way of always bringing people together,” Tournament Director, Kevin Archer said. “Fordyce Strong means, I hate the tragedy had to happen, but even in the tragedy, there’s always purpose and good things that come out of the tragedy.”
