Firefighters respond to kitchen fire at Iowa City apartment building
IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Everyone safely evacuated a three-story Iowa City apartment building Thursday morning after a fire started in the kitchen of one of the units. Fire crews were called to an apartment complex at 1958 of Broadway Street at around 8:42 a.m. on Thursday, where they said they saw smoke coming from a third-floor window.

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) - Diane Venega is returning to her role as North Liberty Police Chief after an investigation found she did not violate any laws or act maliciously. The investigation came after the North Liberty Police Department Officers’ Union and Sergeants Union released a joint letter in March detailing a number of grievances they said led to concerns about Venega’s leadership.
