Brown on board as East Mills/Sidney superintendent
(Malvern/Sidney) -- July marked the beginning of a new school year--and a new superintendent's tenure in the East Mills and Sidney School Districts. Back in April, the East Mills and Sidney School Boards selected Michael Brown to succeed the retiring Tim Hood as a shared superintendent. A 23-year education veteran, Brown previously served as director of the Quest Forward High School is Omaha, and as superintendent of Boyd County Public Schools in Spencer, Nebraska. He also holds an education specialist degree in school administration from Wayne State College and a master's in education from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Speaking on KMA's "Morning Line" program Thursday morning, Brown says he accepted the East Mills/Sidney superintendent's post because of Iowa's education system.
