Riverton 12U All-Stars prepare for LLWS Midwest Regional

RIVERTON, Kan. -- The Riverton 12U All-Stars are representing the state of Kansas in the Little League World Series Midwest Region Tournament in Whitestown, IN.

This comes after they won the Kansas state tournament for the first time since 2010.

"This is a tough area," Riverton head coach Ryan Adler says. "Galena, Cherokee, Pittsburg -- they're good teams, and to overcome that is huge for us. We're a small town, a town of 900 people. These boys have worked hard to come out on top and they deserve it."

"It's a pretty cool experience," 12u All-Star Jed Pillar says. "I look forward to winning [the region tournament]. I want to win it, and I can't wait to play there."

Riverton is set to face the state champions from Iowa in the first round of the double elimination bracket.
