Former Rivesville police chief suing town for wrongful termination, racial discrimination
RIVESVILLE, W.Va (WDTV) - A former Rivesville police chief has filed a lawsuit against the town after he says he was wrongfully terminated and discriminated against. Lamon Simpson was fired by the town of Rivesville in July 2022 by two councilmembers, who told him they did not need to provide a reason for his termination. However, Simpson lists multiple events that he believes played a role in his firing in the lawsuit, including pulling over the town clerk’s mother.
Guilty verdict in Marion County murder case

GREENE COUNTY, Pa. (KDKA) -- A Greene County fugitive on the run for weeks has been taken into custody.Greene County Regional Police Chief William DeForte confirmed to KDKA-TV on Sunday that the suspect, Jimmy Butterfield, 43, was arrested on Saturday. Butterfield had been on the run since Aug. 2 after police executed a search warrant on his home.Police had been investigating Butterfield for months, Chief DeForte said, due to two criminal events.Butterfield is accused of operating a chop shop and marketing illegal motorcycles and parts. Man Wanted in Louisiana Arrested After Pursuit Ends in White Oak Crash, Weapons and Drugs Found
On Saturday night, August 17th, deputies from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to assist Waskom PD in a pursuit involving a white Dodge Charger. The vehicle matched the description of a BOLO issued by Louisiana, where the Louisiana State Police had pursued it earlier that day. Deputies, along with the Texas Highway Patrol, joined the chase, which continued into Marshall. During the pursuit, the vehicle began losing parts of a tire.
