You can’t find the legendary mill under the hood of the company’s muscle cars—which now only come with an electric powertrain or inline-six —any longer, but it can still be had in its long-running SUV, the Durango SRT Hellcat . And to celebrate this unexpected fact, the Detroit giant has just unveiled a limited version of its most powerful family hauler called the Durango Hellcat Silver Bullet.
The Silver Bullet—which is one of two special edition Durango Hellcats it will sell in 2025, along with the R/T 20 th Anniversary—is part of the automaker’s celebration of two decades of the Hemi-powered SUV. Both come with the same supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, which produces a hair-raising 710 hp and 645 ft lbs of torque. As in years past, the mill is mated to an eight-speed automatic that directs power to all four wheels.
All that grunt, as Dodge is quick to highlight, makes the Durango Hellcat powerful SUV ever. It also allows the mid-size, which seats up to six adults, to sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and cover the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds. Top speed is an equally impressive 180 mph. Those are the kind of numbers you’d expect to see from a sports car, like the sadly defunct Viper , not an SUV.
The Silver Bullet will be available in one exclusive colorway. It is painted a hue of silver that the brand is calling Triple Nickel broken up only by a contrasting matte black hood and black trim. Rounding things out are a set of Light Out-finished dark gray wheels through which you can see the red Brembo brakes. The interior, meanwhile, is covered in Nappa leather and is outfitted with Ebony Red seats. There’s also carbon-fiber trim, a suede-wrapped steering wheel, and the SRT Hellcat logo stitched into the seatbacks.
In the market for an SUV you can race at your local drag strip? You might have to act quickly. Although Dodge’s press release doesn’t explicitly say so, multiple publications have referred to the Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet as a “Last Call-style” model . The asking price for the SUV is $113,325, which is nearly $50,000 more than the Durango SRT Hellcat R/T 20 th Anniversary, which starts at $66,970.
