Defendant changes plea to guilty during jury selection in felony DWI case
District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced the guilty plea and sentencing in a recent felony DWI case. Jerome Manuel, 51 of Many, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated-3rd offense in the 10th Judicial District Court. Manuel initially pleaded not guilty to the charge and a jury was being selected for trial. However, Manuel changed his plea to guilty and trial proceedings ceased.
