Missouri Heat Advisory: 110° Heat Index, Warnings Through 9PM Thursday
Springfield, MO – A prolonged period of excessive heat continues across Missouri through the end of the week. Daily highs are expected to reach the middle to upper 90s, with heat index values soaring to between 105 and 110 degrees, peaking this afternoon. Slightly cooler temperatures are anticipated on Friday, though they will remain significantly high.
Cold Front to Bring in Cooler Air
Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - A break from the extreme heat is on the way for the Parkland. Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories across Missouri remain in effect for areas along and south of I-70. An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for Jefferson, Ste. Genevieve, Perry and Bollinger Counties until 7 p.m. Thursday evening. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for St. Francois, Washington, Iron and Madison Counties until 7 p.m. Thursday as well. The combination of high humidity, high temperatures will continue to produce dangerous heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees.
