The Village of Rochester Hills, a lifestyle center in Rochester Hills and north of Detroit, is welcoming an exciting new culinary concept called The Jackson this summer. Established by chef-owners Justin Vaiciunas and Michael Mauro , The Jackson is slated to open in June or July of 2024.

Located inside the Village at 104 N Adams Rd , The Jackson will feature a two-part space: Bar Jackson and the dining room. Bar Jackson creates an intimate experience in a small lounge, allowing patrons to explore The Jackson’s full beverage program with some small bites to choose from. “This area is for guests who want to pop in relax and maybe jump around,” Vaiciunas told What Now Detroit in an email.

To visualize their dream space, the owners have partnered with Detroit-based Pophouse Design . According to Vaiciunas, both the bar and the dining room create an artistic ambiance. Bar Jackson will have green velvet furniture whereas the dining room will have a mix of blue, burnt orange, and camel color velvet seating. Bar Jackson will also have a wall mural of modern art faces by Picasso and the dining room will have a wall canvas of Jackson Pollock artwork.

“Our goal is to offer an elevated dining option that ties in the beauty and creativity of art with food. The space will be open along with the kitchen where guests can see and be a part of the operation,” Vaiciunas said in the email.

The Jackson is destined to be a combination of talent and passion. Vaiciunas was once executive sous chef at The Aerie, a fine dining restaurant at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, as mentioned in Savor Detroit , and was the genius mind behind the restaurants and bar concepts inside Crowne Plaza Pontchartrain Hotel in Detroit. Meanwhile, Mauro will spearhead the beverage program with his extensive knowledge in wine and spirits.

The menu will be a well-balanced orchestra of modern flares and accessible ingredients. As of now, no detailed information regarding the menu is available. Those interested in staying up-to-date with The Jackson can follow the restaurant on Instagram .

“We want food to look great on the plate along with having a New American modern flare to it. We want to offer the community the ability to have a beautiful restaurant with amazing food and service where they can drive 10 minutes to enjoy,” Vaiciunas said.
