ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Hopefully the rough weather is behind us and we can move on with our usual busy summer events calendar here in the Greater Rochester Area!
Wednesday, July 17
Last week’s Midday Bash was rescheduled to this week due to inclement weather. The bash will be held in Downtown Rochester from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will be this week’s performance for Concerts by the Shore. The concert will be held at Ontario Beach Park. This show will start at 7:30 p.m. All other Concerts by the Shore shows begin at 7 p.m.
The second ROC the Block was also rescheduled for this day. The employment fair will be held in the front yard of Franklin High School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Businesses and recruiters will meet with residents to discuss employment and resource opportunities. The next two events will be on Wednesday, August 14, and Wednesday, September 25.
The Rochester Farmers Market continues this Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Parcel 5.
MVP Health Care and Cornell Cooperative Extension will host their first cooking demonstration. This will take place between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
2024 Big concerts in the Rochester region Thursday, July 18
The Seven Wonders will be performing at MLK Park in this week’s Party in the Park. The band is best known for performing hits from Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks.
Gates to Party in the Park open at 6 p.m. and opening acts begin at 7 p.m. Headliners take the stage at 8:30 p.m.
The 1990s sports film “The Sandlot” will be screened in this installment of Movies in the Park. This week’s screening will be held at Innovative Field and will begin a half-hour after sunset.
Singer-songwriter Richard Thompson will be taking the stage at The Theater at Innovation Square as part of his “Ship to Shore Tour 2024.” The show will begin at 7 p.m.
Country singer-songwriter Cody Jinks will be performing alongside Blackberry Smoke at CMAC. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the performance will start at 7 p.m.
Friday, July 19
The headliner for this week’s Bands on the Bricks is Dirty Work, featuring members of Aqueous. Opening the show is the Peter Griffith Group.
Bands on the Bricks is a free concert series held at the Rochester Public Market that will run until Friday, August 9. Performances start at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 20
Grammy-nomatinated singer Dierks Bently will be coming to CMAC as part of his latest tour. The show will kick off at 7 p.m.
The Rochester Pride Parade and Festival will begin at 11 a.m. The parade route will start at the intersection of South Avenue and Science Parkway before heading north on South Avenue. The parade will end at Highland Park — the site of the festival.
Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party will be holding three shows this weekend. Two of which will kick off on Saturday. The first show will be at 10 a.m. and the second show will be at 5 p.m.
The third show will be held on Sunday, July 21 at 12 p.m.
