ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Adam Chodak interviewed Carmine Peluso Thursday — not as the leader of the Rochester City School District, but in his new role as superintendent of the Churchville-Chili Central School District.

Peluso announced his departure earlier this year, marking yet another short stay for an RCSD superintendent. He now occupies the corner office at Churchvile-Chili, where he worked for a bit before his rise in Rochester.

He talked about the different challenges he now faces, but also his priorities.

“Really just lifting and continuing the work that has been done here previously and I think setting some goals around academics, fiscal responsibility, capital improvement, the facilities are here are remarkable, making sure we’re uplifting the work that’s already been done and assessing how we can improve and do better, but that work comes with working with a team so it’s not just my goals, but our goals,” Peluso said.

DeMario Strickland is now interim superintendent for RCSD. He has expressed interest in taking on the job permanently and for the long haul.
