ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — On Tuesday, WeTheHobby held a ribbon cutting for their new sports card lounge in Rochester. It’s located at 23 Arlington Street.

WeTheHobby is a brand that showcases sports trading cards, and they have been rapidly expanding since they started just a handful of years ago.

At the event Tuesday, the company said it currently generates $100 million in revenue a year, and employs 80 people, from retail sales to online talent, and more.

WeTheHobby has capitalized on the post-pandemic card trading boom, creating popular card content on whatnot, Fanactics, and TiKTok.

“There’s not somewhere where you can take your son or daughter to watch a game and we wanted to create that experience,” said Zach Stanley, CEO of WeTheHobby. “(You can) have a craft beer, watch the game, but being able to do it in a clean, fun, lounge setting with all this memorabilia and entertainment going on around you, there’s nothing like it.”

Stanely clarified that WeTheHobby doesn’t serve beer yet, but is working to get its liquor license. They are open every day of the week.
