UPDATE : No aggravated battery charge will be filed against a man arrested earlier in connection with a stabbing incident in Rock Island, according to Rock Island County State’s Attorney Dora Villarreal.

“Our office reviewed the case and the investigation on Thursday morning,” Villarreal told Our Quad Cities News on Friday. “The review included reports, interviews and video that was obtained by the investigators. We determined that there was not sufficient evidence to ptove charges of aggravated battery.

“We have no comment on whether or not there was an affirmative defense for the actions of Mr. Brown,” the statement concluded.

EARLIER : a man is in the Rock Island County Jail after police say he stabbed another man after an argument.

According to a news release from the Rock Island Police Department, at about 2 p.m. on July 31, Nicholas L.
