    FEMA centers opening in Spencer, Rock Valley

    DES MOINES, Iowa (KCAU) — FEMA is opening more Disaster Recovery Centers in two communities affected by the recent flooding.

    On Tuesday, July 2 at 1 p.m. FEMA will be providing one-on-one assistance for people affected by the recent flooding and storms.

    On Wednesday, July 3 at 1 p.m. FEMA will open another Disaster Recovery Center in Rock Valley.

    Recovery specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will provide information on available services, explain disaster assistance programs, and help people complete or check the status of applications for federal assistance.

    Volunteers from across the nation help Rock Valley

    The Disaster Recovery Center locations:

    In Spencer (Clay County) at the Clay County Regional Eventers Center – Tower Gate Pavilion. The Spencer hours are from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, and then from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, until further notice.

    In Rock Valley (Sioux County) at the City Park Shelter House. The Rock Valley hours are from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, then 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, until further notice.

    Both recovery centers will be open on the 4th of July holiday, with more locations opening soon in northwest Iowa, according to the FEMA press release.
