Four Rescued at Rockford Park
High Ridge, Mo. (KFMO) - Crews with the High Ridge Fire Protection District completed a water rescue at Rockford Park Saturday. A 12-year-old girl and a 29-year-old woman were swimming near the bluffs on the opposite side of the river when they were overpowered by the current. They were able to hold on to a rock ledge and yell for help. Two adult males swam over to help, and they were able to get the woman and girl to the other shore, but all four required assistance from the fire protection district to return back across the river to shore.

Beloit police officer cleared in shooting death of stabbing suspect
BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) - The Beloit police officer who shot a South Beloit man is cleared of any wrongdoing, the Rock County District Attorney announced July 2. Officer Cole Gille was found to have acted lawfully in the May 16 incident and that his use of force was legal and appropriate. The District Attorney also said Gregory Tracy, 54, of South Beloit was shot, and died, as a direct result of his own actions.
