ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Motise Reynolds, 30, for allegedly punching and tackling a pregnant woman.

On July 1st, around 10 a.m., police received a report that Reynolds was attacking a woman in the 3900 block of 15th Avenue. When they were located, Reynolds complained of shoulder pain and the victim had abrasions on her arms and legs, according to court records.

Rockford Fire was called to check on both parties while officials investigated the incident.

The victim told authorities the incident started with an argument. She proceeded to take Reynold’s car keys and run out of the apartment, police said.

The woman told officials the suspect chased her, so she threw the keys into a bush along 15th Avenue. Reynolds continued his pursuit, grabbed her hair and punched her in the back of the head, according to court documents.

After both of them continued to struggle until the suspect tackled her, Reynolds went to look for his keys, authorities said.

Reynolds was taken into custody and transported to the Swedish American Hospital to have his dislocated shoulder reset.

The suspect is being charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and domestic battery with bodily harm.

Reynolds was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
