    Where to watch 2024 Fourth of July fireworks in the Rockford area

    ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – If you are looking for a place to watch the Fourth of July fireworks, there are events happening all over the stateline.

    Here’s a list of places to check out.

    Beloit

    The 2024 Pops on the Rock Concert & Fireworks event kicks off at 7:30 p.m., July 4, at Harry Moore Pavilion, 1160 S. Riverside Drive, Beloit. The fireworks start after a concert by the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra. Free.

    Byron

    The Byron Fourth of July Fireworks Show is at 9 p.m., at the Byron Dragway, 7287 N. River Road. Gates open at 6 p.m. The show is free. Concessions and food trucks will be onsite.

    Cherry Valley

    Cherry Valley’s free fireworks show will happen at 9:30 p.m. at Baumann Park.

    What fireworks are allowed in Illinois?

    Durand

    Durand’s fireworks show will start at dusk at Durand High School, 200 W. South St. Free.

    Freeport

    Freeport’s Fourth of July fireworks show will happen at dusk Saturday, July 13, at the Tutty Baker Festival.

    Kirkland

    Kirkland’s 76th Annual 4th of July Celebration begins at 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 3. The four-day festival includes live music, a carnival, a bags tournament, a parade (July 4), and fireworks (July 6). Fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. The festival is at Franklin Township Park, one block south of Illinois Route 72.

    Rochelle

    Rochelle’s Fourth of July festivities kick off Friday, July 5. The parade starts at 11 a.m. downtown. Fireworks start at dusk at Atwood Park. Free.

    Rockford

    Rockford’s 60th Fourth of July Celebration begins at 4:40 p.m., Thursday, with a motorcycle parade. The main parade starts at 5 p.m. The fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Nearly 7,000 shells will be shot from Davis Park, 320 S. Wyman St. It is $5 to get into Davis Park, where there is also live music. The fireworks are free to watch from other areas of downtown Rockford.

    The 2024 Celebration of Freedom fireworks show will also be broadcast live on WTVO-TV.

    Rivets Stadium

    The Rockford Rivets will host a Fourth of July fireworks display following their home game against the Kokomo Jackrabbits. Game time is 6:35 p.m. Rivets Stadium is at 4503 Interstate Blvd., Loves Park.

    Winnebago

    Winnebago’s fireworks begin at dusk on Wednesday, July 3, at the high school, 200 E. McNair Road. The parade is 10 a.m., Thursday, July 4.
