ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police arrested Jontaivyn Allen, 19, for allegedly feeling officers after being found driving a stolen vehicle.

On July 2nd, SCOPE officers saw a stolen gray Lincoln MKZ at a Shell Gas Station on Harrison Avenue. Authorities said they attempted a traffic stop, but the car fled the scene.

Officials relocated the Lincoln near Clifton Avenue and South Main Street when Allen ran from the driver’s seat of the car, according to court records. Police said they lost sight of the suspect but received a call saying he was near Wisconsin and Rose Avenues.

Authorities arrived in the area and gave chase again until they took Allen into custody in the 1900 block of Ivy Terrace, according to court documents.

Allen is being charged with fleeing in an attempt to elude an officer, possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting an officer.
