ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The United Way has started a hotline for Rockford-area residents who experienced damage during three nights of storms that soaked the region over the weekend.

The hotline, staffed with United Way volunteers, aims to connect impacted residents with available resources.

The hotline will be open Thursday, July 18th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 815-516-2847.

“Please note, there is currently no local, state, or federal funding available for reimbursement of individual clean-up and restoration efforts,” the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office said in an announcement.

The National Weather Service confirmed several EF-0 tornados, with winds up to 80 mph, touched down in DeKalb County, Davis Junction, Byron, and southwest Winnebago County over the weekend.
