ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Winds have been on the weaker side throughout the day today and as we head overnight tonight, they will become calm. This will allow the little bit of moisture in our atmosphere to condense and become fog by the morning. Harlem-Roscoe Fire will transition to full-time staff in August
The Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department is transitioning to a 24/7 full-time staffed department effective August 1, 2024, supplemented with part time personnel. Harlem-Roscoe Fire Chief John Bergeron says, "This transition marks a new era for Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department." Bergeron says residents will see "faster, more reliable service." The department's on premise shift schedule will increase to 12 paid staff per day, allowing for more continuous coverage.

Galesburg girl wins Li’l Miss Illinois pageant
There she is, Li’l Miss Illinois. That person is Kynleigh Fox of Galesburg, who was recently named Li’l Miss Illinois 2024 through the Miss Illinois Youth Program. Fox, daughter of Stacy Dunham, took part in the pageant recently as Li’l Miss Knox County. Fox recently turned 9 years old and will be a fourth grader at Galesburg Christian School. Among the activities she was required to take part included a talent – she danced – and an interview. Fox aced it as she was named Overall Top Interview.
