Crash in Town of Sheridan Leads to DWI Arrest
Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies have charged a Minnesota man after investigating a crash late Thursday night just outside of the Village of Silver Creek. Deputies responded to Pennsylvania Avenue shortly after 10:45 PM, located a vehicle in a ditch on East Middle Road, and found the driver a short distance away. Further investigation found that 38-year-old Daniel Gallivan of Minnetrista, Minnesota allegedly had a BAC more than twice the legal limit. Gallivan will appear in Sheridan Town Court at a later date to answer charges of DWI, aggravated DWI (BAC .18% or higher) and failure to keep right.

FDA approval of latest Alzheimer's drug gives MN families hope
MINNEAPOLIS — An announcement by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) this week is creating its own form of fireworks for families affected by Alzheimer’s disease. On Tuesday, the FDA announced its long-awaited approval of the Eli Lilly drug, donanemab. Trials have shown the drug – which will be sold under the brand name Kisunla – slowed the progression of Alzheimer’s disease by 35% by attacking what’s considered a hallmark of the disease: protein in the brain called amyloid plaque.

Waconia approves Goodwill store despite local thrift shop concerns
Waconia City Council members on June 17 approved plans for a new Goodwill store despite objections from representatives of local non-profit thrift shops. The 20,867 square-foot Goodwill facility is planned for 860 Marketplace Drive in the city’s highway business district, near Valvoline and Mackenthun’s Fine Foods. The new store follows the same blueprint as other Goodwill locations across the state, including those in Chanhassen and Chaska.

Minneapolis police make "numerous" arrests after fireworks chaos in Dinkytown
MINNEAPOLIS — Several people were arrested in Dinkytown Thursday evening during a chaotic scene in which people shot off fireworks in the streets.Video at the scene captured the mess that happened, as young people shot off fireworks towards others, towards the streets and towards cars. Minneapolis police say there were "numerous" arrests. SWAT was on scene assisting as well. It was a scene similar to last July, when 16 people were arrested for shooting fireworks at people, and even at police cars at Bde Maka Ska.Ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said there would be a heavier police presence, and said if anyone threatens the safety or property of others, officers would act.
