Two people — a 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl — were found unresponsive Thursday evening in a vehicle in Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve.

Winnebago County sheriff’s deputies, Cherry Valley Police Department officers, Rockford Park District officers, and Cherry Valley Fire Protection District paramedics responded to the park about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The man was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The girl was taken to a local hospital and airlifted to a hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, where she was listed in critical condition.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a press release that no foul play is suspected. County detectives are investigating the incident.
