California Keeps Slim Playoff Hopes Alive
Eduardo Curros – Field Correspondent, All Lacrosse All The Time. The California Redwoods faced off against the Philadelphia Waterdogs in the late PLL game Friday night in Denver. The Waterdogs were already eliminated from playoff contention at 1-7. Similarly, California at 2-6 with a league-worst scoring differential of -32, were in last place in the West Conference, but remained alive for a playoff spot. In spite of their respective dismal seasons, the teams arguably put on the most exciting game of the weekend, with the Redwoods prevailing 13-12 in overtime. Philly suffers their fifth one-goal loss of the season, falling to 1-8. California is now 3-6 and remains eligible for the playoffs, but the scoring differential will likely keep them outside the playoff window.
