Rocklin incident report: Assault by vacuum, red light runner, stolen vehicle found
The Rocklin Police Department publishes a weekly crime report, here are the published incidents from June 17-23: At 1:24 a.m., Rocklin officers responded to a couple standing next to a vehicle with all four tires slashed in a business parking lot on the 4000 block of Pacific Street. While on scene, officers discovered one of the involved parties had an outstanding felony arrest warrant. The male with the warrant was transported and booked at the South Placer Jail without incident.
Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville to vote on half-cent sales tax measure in November
ROSEVILLE, Calif. — People living in Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville will vote on a new ballot measure come November. Measure B is a half-cent sales tax to reduce traffic congestion and build transportation projects in south Placer County. Some of those projects include widening Highway 65 and fixing the I-80/Highway 65 Interchange bottleneck.

Elon Musk’s $44 billion purchase of Twitter, now known as X, seems to be doing some good for the electric vehicle community. Since Musk has taken over the platform, he has heavily promoted the use of Community Notes to fact check everyone, even himself, as needed. This became particularly useful recently after CBS News Sacramento published a rather misleading report about a “Tesla Fire” in California.
Alcohol ban for the Truckee River takes effect
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A ban on alcohol along the Truckee River has taken effect. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office says the ban took effect on Monday and will last until Saturday. It will span from the outflow of Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City upstream to the Alpine Meadows Bridge.

Fairgrounds hosts community question/answer session
