    Sinton, Rockport-Fulton, London athletes honored on THSCA Super Elite Baseball teams

    Several Corpus Christi-area high school baseball players were honored by the Texas High School Coaches Association on Wednesday as the organization released its Super Elite teams.

    Sinton's Nick Flores was honored with the Class 4A gold glove to lead all area recipients.

    He also was first team All-South Texas at utility, hitting .409 this season with eight doubles, four triples and two home runs.

    Rockport-Fulton's Isaiah Elizondo joined him on the Class 4A team.

    In Class 3A, state semifinalist London had a pair of honorees.

    Catcher Christian Olivares and infielder Landon Salinas helped London become the first Coastal Bend team to qualify for the UIL State Tournament four consecutive seasons.

    Several coaches have also been honored this month by the THSCA.

    Calallen's Teresa Lentz was named Region 7 softball head coach of the year in Class 4A and Riviera's Devon Torres earned the accolade in Class 2A. Veterans Memorial's Kaylee Villanueva was tabbed regional assistant softball coach of the year in Class 5A.

    Sinton's Louden Ramirez was regional assistant boys tennis coach of the year.

    Refugio girls coach Katie Green and boys coach Adam Spiegleman were each honored as track & field coaches of the year for the state after guiding their squads to Class 2A state titles.

    McMullen County's Gary Billingsley was named Region 7 girls head coach of the year for track & field in Class 1A.
