Start Time For St. Cloud Fireworks Moved
ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- The start time for the 4th of July fireworks in St. Cloud has been moved. St. Cloud Area Fireworks Board Executive Director Christina Buttenhoff says because of inclement weather that is supposed to move into the area later this evening the 4th of July fireworks at Hester Park have been moved up to 9:00 p.m.

Tribal-Based Medical Cannabis Dispensary Opens in East St. Cloud
(KNSI) – A self-described tribal-based medical cannabis dispensary has opened in the old Ace Bar building in East St. Cloud after months of delay. White Feather Essential Earth Elements President Doctor Allen S. Miller is a certified tribal healer with the Crow Nation and is bringing a new holistic approach to medicine to central Minnesota. “What we’ve done is combine native medicine and alternative health.”
UPDATE: Water usage limit lifted in St. Cloud and greater area
ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The limit on water usage in and around the St. Cloud area is now lifted. On Tuesday, July 2, the City of St. Cloud announced that the critical repairs on the Metro Forcemain Sewer System were done; therefore, lifting the request for residents to limit their water usage.
University Drive Bridge Closing Late Next Week
(KNSI) – Crews will close the University Drive Bridge in St. Cloud for the second half of July. Current plans are to shut down the busy crossing over the Mississippi River at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12th. Other closures will include University Drive at 5th and 7th Avenues South. Three men have filed as candidates for two positions on the Sartell City Council to be decided in the Nov. 5 general election. The candidates are Rustin Deters, Marshall Grams and Pat Lynch. Fourth of July Holiday Brings Government Office, Business Closures
(KNSI) – Time at the lake, grilling, and fireworks are staples of Independence Day here in Minnesota. The federal holiday also comes with disruptions. The United States Postal Service will not be making deliveries. All federal departments and courts, as well as state government services, are closed. Area cities have already alerted people that municipal offices will also take the day off. That includes garbage pick up and the St. Cloud Compost Site, which will reopen Friday at its normal time of 1:00 p.m. Counties will be similarly affected.
Clear Lake council focuses on Fire Department
Monday’s meeting of the Clear Lake City Council was heavy on Fire Department related items, and it took nearly two hours to complete the agenda.
