15 train cars derail near Big Lake
(Big Lake, MN) -- No one was injured when a train derailed in Sherburne County early Saturday morning. Fifteen cars carrying consumer goods came off the track near Big Lake around 3:15 a.m. The derailment caused disruptions to train schedules over the weekend as freight trains were rerouted around the site. As a result, Northstar had to cancel a train that was supposed to bring fans from Big Lake to Minneapolis to watch the Twins game.
