Texas Juvenile arrested, accused of more than 100 bomb threats in several states
TEXAS — A Texas juvenile has been arrested after the Collin County Sheriff's Office, Tyler Police Department, Smith County Sheriff's Office and the FBI executed a search warrant in Smith County on Saturday, June 29. Investigators say the juvenile was actively trying to stay hidden from law enforcement using "sophisticated techniques" before authorities uncovered their identity through "persistent online investigative efforts."In a press release, the Collin County Sheriff's Office said the operation "successfully identified a juvenile suspect responsible for numerous bomb threats and swatting hoaxes across multiple states." A grand jury in McKinney has indicted a Plano woman for the April murder of her ex-husband. The shooting happened in the garage of a home on Monticello Circle in Plano in April.
Motorcycle crash in Richardson leaves one dead, four injured
RICHARDSON, Texas — A motorcycle crash at the intersection of E. Renner Rd. and Token Dr. on June 30, 2024, has left one person dead and four others injured. The Richardson Police Department responded to the scene at 5:07 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that the driver of a pickup truck was making a left turn from southbound Token Dr. to eastbound E. Renner Rd. when the vehicle was struck by a westbound motorcycle. The motorcyclist, identified as 35-year-old Emmanuel Kihato, of Richardson, Texas, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Royse City man identified as one of victims in fatal airplane crash
A Royse City man has been identified as one of the two men who died after a small airplane crashed at McKinney National Airport Thursday morning. Gustavo Moreno, 53, of Royse City died along with the pilot, Michael Lewis of Forney. Another passenger, Randy Williams, survived the crash, but with severe injuries. The National Transportation Safety Board says the twin-engine Cessna 414A appeared to have suffered engine failure and the incident is under investigation. The plane was owned by Hunger Relief Ministries of Forney.
Police arrest Sunnyvale murder suspect in Mississippi, shooting was likely a ‘retaliation'
It's been a year since a gunman in a get-away car ambushed a family of five in Sunnyvale, killing a woman and injuring her adult brother and his three kids. Surveillance video showed a black sedan blocking a car in the parking lot of the Riverton Trail Townhomes on 201 Planters Road. A man wearing a mask runs out of the passenger side of the sedan and fires several rounds into the parked car.

At the most recent Texas Citizen Police Academy Association Convention, which took place in League City, Texas, the MCPAAA earned top honors for its membership endeavors. On Sunday, June 30th, 2024, dashcam video captured a stark illustration of the dangers of drinking and driving. Following their assistance to a motorist on the highway, three officers narrowly avoided serious injury when a suspected drunk driver collided with one of their police vehicles. The incident occurred as officers were talking near the highway shoulder, while the suspect's vehicle crashed into a parked police car, causing a tire to dislodge and strike another police vehicle. Although debris from the collision struck one of the officers, fortunately, no severe injuries were reported. As we approach the July 4th holiday, this serves as a sobering reminder to celebrate responsibly.
