    Foot Locker closes Rocky Mount store

    A handwritten sign reading “Location closed permanently” is shown Sunday on the gate of Foot Locker’s store in the Golden East Crossing mall. Through the windows, employees could be seen working amid boxed merchandise and dissassembled displays. Foot Locker announced plans in March to close 400 underperforming stores as part of a sales and marketing strategy called “Lace Up” that includes plans to open concept stores in new markets.
