Nebraska Man Injured In Alton Accident
Alton, Iowa – A South Sioux City man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday evening (July 17th) on Highway 60, just south of Alton. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says around 6:45 Wednesday evening the Sioux County Communications Center received calls reporting that 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was being driven in an unsafe manner, northbound on Highway 60. Deputies say before they could locate and stop the Jeep its driver, who authorities identify as 31-year-old Orson Castillo, lost control of the SUV and struck a bridge.

Finding ways to cut costs on Sheldon High School’s $33 million expansion and renovation project is tedious work. Sheldon School District superintendent Cory Myer worked with the school’s contracted companies, W.A. After 25 years, Nick Foster will hold the final Pleasant Prairie Threshing Bee on July 27. Foster is the president of the Greene County Historical Society, a farmer in Jefferson, and he collects antique tractors and farming equipment. Grand Junction summerfest set for first weekend in August
50107 Summerfest will be held on August 2 and August 3 in Grand Junction. Most of the fun will happen in the old school lot, unless noted. Festivities start at 4 p.m. on Friday night with the opening of the beer tent. Gotcha Games Carnival, food vendors (Borrachos & Kona Ice), Greene County Cattlemen and yard games will start at 5 p.m. The carnival is the same group that was at the Bell Tower Festival.
