A chance connection with a Wofford alumna has led to a dream internship for Marlee Bland, Wofford College Class of ’25, a finance major from Charleston, South Carolina. Bland is spending her second summer at Sea Fox Boat Company, based in Charleston, honing her skills under the guidance of Tanner Renken ’19, director of IT and marketing and fourth-generation leader of the family-owned company.

Danny Kambel joined Spartanburg Methodist College as assistant athletic director for sports communications. He has served as sports information director at six institutions, including The College of Idaho, Pacific University, LeTourneau University, University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Texas A&M University-Commerce. He worked in assistant positions at Florida International University and Indiana State, participated in internships at Indiana University and the Naval Academy Athletic Association, and also served as sports information consultant at The Evergreen State College and University of the Pacific.

Atlanta Man Arrested and Charged with Trespassing for Attempting to Remove Confederate Flag in Spartanburg
An Atlanta man, James Daniel Blitch, was arrested on charges of trespassing after attempting to lower a Confederate flag displayed along Interstate 85 south, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The incident, which happened late Saturday night, resulted in Blitch facing two counts of trespassing, as he was taken into custody by Spartanburg County deputies. Live5News reported that the deputies responded to the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m. Following Blitch's arrest, authorities discovered he had with him multiple tools, including a power tool and drill bits, evidently for the purpose of taking down the flag.

GREER, S.C. — The family of a paralyzed South Carolina womanwho died after having a stroke in Italy is planning a celebration of life to remember her. Grace Bradley, who was born with Vodder syndrome and became paralyzed, died in Italy on July 10. Bradley had been in the Venice hospital after suffering a stroke on June 26.
