His illustrious career with Harps began in 1986, where he started as Vice President of Finance. From the beginning, Collins proved that he would be an integral part of the retail’s strategy. In fact, in 2001, Harps transitioned from being family-owned to employee-owned under his guidance.
Arkansas Ultrarunners at the Western States Endurance Run
This past weekend, three Arkansas ultrarunners participated in the Western States Endurance Run. Erich Washausen of Prairie Grove, Ashley Gramza of Little Rock, and Alex Staten of Fayetteville joined 372 other runners from around the world. In total, 288 runners completed the race. Washausen finished the course in under 28 hours and 54 minutes, while Staten crossed the finish line after the 30-hour cut-off. Unfortunately, Gramza dropped out at mile 78. Washausen and Gramza shared their reflections on the race and the supportive community that made their participation possible.

Walton Arts Center to host blood drive with free entertainment July 3
The Walton Arts Center will host a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. The center will provide live entertainment for blood donors in attendance that day, including performances by guitarists Paul Price, Ben Harris, and William Reyes.
City offices closed July 4, trash service will run on schedule
City offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Despite the closure, both residential and commercial recycling and trash pick up routes will run on their regular schedule. The city’s transfer station, compost site and household hazardous waste trailer will be closed on Thursday, however.
