The body of Rogers native Dylan Honnoll has been found by search teams almost two weeks after he fell while hiking in Montana.

Honnoll, a Rogers High School graduate and current Montana State University student, had been missing since July 12 when he fell into rapids while attempting to cross a creek near Rimrock Lake.

The Carbon County Sheriff's Office in Montana says search crews found Honnoll’s body "completely submerged under the fast moving water" on Tuesday. His body was then recovered from the water on Wednesday with the help of helicopter crews.

"Locating Dylan in the fast moving river was very challenging,” said Red Lodge Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Jon Trapp said in a statement.

"With the dedicated work of our Search and Rescue Team and help from many of our partners, we are honored to be able to help return him to his family."

The sheriff’s office says arrangements are being made to return Honnoll’s body to his family in Minnesota.

Honnoll had just completed his sophomore year at Montana State University, with a previous statement from authorities saying he "was active in sports, and had spent a lifetime in the outdoors with his family and friends."
