USFS: Diamond Lake Campground closing through Sunday due to Trail Fire
Since the thunderstorm, 54 smoke checks have been called in, smoke checks are in progress. Ten confirmed lightning-caused fires:. Trail Fire – Just east of Diamond Lake. Trail Fire is estimated at 200 acres. Multiple crews and engines assigned to this incident. Additional tanker in route today. Aircraft resources are being shared between Lemolo and Trail Fires. Evacuations for the Trail Fire can be found on the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Diamond Lake Campground is closed starting today, July 18, 2024, through Sunday, July 21, 2024. We will reevaluate on Sunday. Reservation cancellation emails, including refund information have been sent via Recreation.gov.
