A Rohnert Park man is accused of raping a woman, injuring two others and threatening to kill himself before being arrested Sunday evening in Marin County.

Yuimi Zingkhai, 23, was arrested in Kentfield on suspicion of committing numerous offenses, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the arrest charges include allegations of rape, attempted murder, elder abuse on a dependent adult, kidnapping, lewd and lascivious acts by a caretaker, battery, robbery, false imprisonment, dissuading a witness, brandishing a weapon and domestic violence.

He is being held without bail at the Marin County jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Marin County Superior Court. It is unclear if he has an attorney.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Zingkhai is an in-home medical caretaker whose patient was an elderly woman “who suffers from memory-related issues and is unable to care for herself or make any decisions on her own behalf.”

About 5:30 p.m. Sunday, her daughter reported she came home and found the suspect raping the elderly woman, officials said.

They didn’t say where the patient lived, but jail records show Zingkhai was arrested on Almenar Drive in Kentfield.

Zingkhai is accused of grabbing the patient’s daughter by the throat after she yelled at him to stop and choking her until she lost consciousness.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, he then dragged her into the kitchen where she woke up. Zingkhai is suspected of holding the daughter at knifepoint and threatening to kill her if she called police.

Zingkhai left two hours later after the daughter convinced him to leave so he could handle matters “he mentioned were important to him,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.

This is when the daughter dialed 911.

Officials said Zingkhai went home and told his girlfriend he was suicidal before then explaining he needed to return to the elderly woman’s home.

The girlfriend went with him and tried to dial 911 as they drove to the home. The suspect took her phone and hit her several times, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities were at the home by the time Zingkhai and his girlfriend arrived and he pushed her out of his vehicle as he tried to flee, officials said.

Police arrested Zingkhai at the scene.
