Macomb County Voters Select Sheriff, County Clerk and Probate Judge
Macomb county voters on Aug. 6 will vote on primary candidates for County Sheriff, County Clerk and Probate Judge. Budnick, a Hamtramck police officer from Macomb Township, supports enforcing laws against people preying on seniors and believes every school in Macomb County needs to have at least one armed officer on-site. He supports working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to turn over “illegal aliens” encountered in the county; recruiting and retaining sheriff’s office employees by boosting morale, restoring benefits and improving wages; and deploying more deputies to patrol neighborhoods and roads.

Incumbent Lenox Township Supervisor Anthony Reeder Jr. is facing opposition in the Aug. 6 primary election. Reeder, a Republican, is being challenged by Scott Clifford, a Republican and current township trustee. Shelby Township Summerfest brought weekend of fun and entertainment
SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township SummerFest featured tons of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy June 28-29 at the Shelby Township municipal campus. On June 28, attendees were able to enjoy a kids zone with a touch-a-truck area, face painting, a petting zoo and a live taping of Shelby TV’s award-winning program “The Treehouse.” The day ended with an outdoor showing of a family movie.

Teacher who memorialized Escanaba D-Day soldier shares experience in Normandy
ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - A student-teacher duo recently memorialized an Escanaba soldier who fought on D-Day. The Albert H. Normandy Institute Fellowship grantees traveled to France to deliver a eulogy for U.S. Navy seaman Auvergne Breault. Breault was just 20 years old when he died during the allied forces invasion of Normandy, France, on June 6, 1944, known as D-Day.
