Despite the layoff of over 50 teachers, the Ann Arbor School District says class size will not be increasing this fall at Title I schools. During an Equity and Inclusion committee meeting on Wednesday, district officials said there was a total of 11 FTE reductions in the Title I schools.
2 Wayne County community colleges allow culinary students to transfer credits
DETROIT – The Wayne County Community College District is teaming up with Schoolcraft College to allow the transfer of credits related to studies in culinary arts. The colleges on Monday, July 1 announced a new agreement that will help culinary arts students begin studying at WCCCD and transition to Schoolcraft for the remainder of their studies. The program is scheduled to start in the fall with 15 students, officials said.

At the moment, the automotive industry is facing one major issue that figures to have a tremendous impact in the coming years – a lack of technicians that can repair and service vehicles. As such, Ford has long been working to entice young students to think about becoming auto techs to help fill these much-needed roles before a massive shortage occurs, offering multiple scholarships and sponsoring programs revolving around that concept. Michigan public universities blame tuition hikes on higher costs, less funding
Tuition hikes of 4% or more are the standard for the coming academic year for most public universities in Michigan. In announcing the increases over the last few weeks, schools across the state pointed to a variety of reasons for their decisions, including declining enrollment, rising costs of salaries, goods and services and the continued need for investments in areas including campus safety and mental health resources — along with historic drops in state funding.
