Bixler II did after graduating from Howland High School in 1999 and attending the Coast Guard Academy, from which he graduated in 2003. Fred E. Fouts, 87, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Fred was born Sunday, February 14, 1937 to the late Charles and Clarice (Hutchins) Fouts and lived in the Doylestown area most of his life. He very much enjoyed his retirement after working as a tool maker and in construction. Fred was a faithful Christian throughout his life. He loved his family, golfing, and traveling.

Salem health board offers position to Crockett
SALEM–The health board offered the position for a new Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics Wednesday. The unanimous decision came after a lengthy executive session for the discussion of personnel matters and will see the position offered to Brooke Crockett. This follows the hire of Registrar of Vital Statistics Kim Williams in a special meeting July 2, and will see the Deputy Registrar position filled for the first time since former Registrar Rachel Bowens vacated to position to be appointed as Interim Registrar March 28. She was subsequently appointed to the permanent position on May 15, prior to her departure from the department on June 28.
Hartville appoints former councilwoman to fill council vacancy
KEY ACTION: Council appointed former village Councilwoman Kelly Reis to fill the seat of Councilwoman Shari Chambers, who resigned July 9. DISCUSSION: Council selected Reis from among three candidates by 4-1 vote, with Councilman Steve Riesch voting no. Councilman Jim Sullivan said the applicants “did not make this decision easy." “Everybody brings a quality we [were] looking for,” he said. Mayor Cynthia Billings noted that Reis must tender her resignation from the village Board of Public Affairs upon taking her seat on council, where she will serve out the remainder of Chambers’ term, through Dec. 31, 2025.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 12:26 p.m. Sunday regarding an ongoing situation with an ex-roommate. The caller advised that some of their personal belongings were placed at the curb, listed as free on a local Facebook group and advised that some of their items were now gone. Officers advised the caller a police report would be made and sent down for review for possible charges.

WARREN — Trumbull County Commissioner Niki Frenchko was scheduled on Thursday to respond to a lawsuit filed by the commissioners’ interim clerk, Lisa DeNunzio Blair, that alleges the commissioner on multiple occasions since May 15, defamed her and invaded her privacy, presenting images of her in a false light and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
