45th Annual East Coast Got Em On King Mackerel Tournament held in Carolina Beach
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Nearly 200 boats competed in a fishing tournament this weekend in Carolina Beach looking to reel in the big one. The 45th Annual East Coast Got Em On King Mackerel Classic took place this Sunday. The tournament is typically all weekend long, but due to weather it was pushed to just Sunday. Dozens of people waited for the boats to come in before 5pm, with some bringing in some big fish before then. Several different size fish came in weighing anywhere between 10 – 40 lbs. According to Kevin Aman, a member of the NC Division of Marine Fisheries, who did sampling of some of the fish that were caught, said its a great turnout every year.
