Nearly a year and a half after flames and smoke caused significant damage to Elizabeth Forward High School, construction is set to begin to rebuild the damaged structure and make improvements throughout the building.

Washington County Health Dept, NIH looking for YOUR opinions in new study
26 July 2024- Washington County community members are invited to share their thoughts on hardship and what makes a “good life” during a pilot study being conducted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with support from the Washington County Health Department and Healthy Washington County. The Fairness Dialogues Field Laboratory (FairLab) session will be Thursday, Aug. 8, from 1-5 p.m. at the downtown Hagerstown branch of the Washington County Free Library.
Peters Township football stadium turf gets replaced
Work is underway at Peters Township’s high school stadium to replace the turf as a new school year approaches. The Peters Township board of school directors approved the project in February. The field is being outfitted with the “Game On Turf System” from Shaw Sports Turf. The work is costing the district $507,200.
