Man drowns after jumping off boat to swim in Oakland County lake
OAKLAND COUNTY, MI – A man was found dead early Sunday morning after he had jumped off a boat and into the lake hours earlier, Oakland County sheriff’s deputies said. Investigators identified the man as 20-year-old Marsalis Quintin Carter of Detroit. The preliminary cause of death was ruled as a drowning, police said.
Waterford Township man dies in motorcycle crash after striking traffic sign
A Waterford Township man has died in a motorcycle crash in Pontiac. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened Saturday (7/20) around 2:42 a.m. on Woodward at Osmun. He was 39 years old.
47-year-old shot and killed at Burton party store
BURTON, Mich. (WJRT) - A 47-year-old man is dead after a shooting at a party store along the Burton-Flint city limits Friday. The shooting was reported shortly after noon at the 10 Eleven convenience store at 3280 Lippincott Blvd. Burton Police Chief Brian Ross said the 47-year-old victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead.

Clarkston motorcyclist killed in crash
It’s been a deadly past few weeks for motorcyclists in Oakland County, with yet another killed in a crash. On Thursday evening, a 41-year-old Clarkston man died at an area hospital after he was hit by another vehicle on Telegraph Road near 12 Mile Road in Southfield while on this motorcycle, officials said.

Alleged carjacker nabbed in Oakland County
An Auburn Hills man is facing charges of carjacking and other crimes in connection with an alleged July 17 incident. Zahir Hashim Abdul Aziz, 20, is accused of waving down a female driver in an Auburn Hills parking lot off South Opdyke Road as if he needed help, then threw her out of her vehicle, struggled with her and then stole the car — hitting two others in the lot as he drove off.
Deadly crash closes Flint Township intersection Friday
FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - At least one person died after a crash on Beecher Road in Flint Township on Friday. The crash was reported around noon at the intersection of Beecher and Gilbert roads, which is a short distance west of the I-75 overpass. Photos from the scene showed a car and pickup truck that collided near the intersection.
