Boulder Flat fire continues to burn in Douglas County
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – The Boulder Flat fire continues to burn near the Slide Creek and Soda Springs area. According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Level 2 ‘Be Set’ evacuation notices have been issued for all homes in the Slide Creek Area, downstream to the Soda Springs area. Pacific Power has released water from the Soda Springs dam in response to the fire.

ROSEBURG CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LAND SWAP
Roseburg City Council will hold a public hearing on a proposed land swap at its meeting Monday night. The city has initiated an amendment to its Urban Growth Boundary. If approved, the process will include removing two large parcels of land from the UGB that have significant development constraints, while adding a section of land in the Charter Oaks area that is flatter and much easier to develop. Monday councilors will consider an ordinance amending the UGB, annexing Troost Street right-of-way to the edge of the new UGB and amending the Urban Growth Management Agreement.
Air quality alert issued through Monday for Jackson County
Smoke from Douglas County fires drifting south into Ashland. Smoke from wildfires in Douglas County prompted issuance of an air quality advisory on Saturday evening by Jackson County Public Health, effective through Monday, July 22. Depending on weather patterns and fire activity, air quality could be impacted for longer, the announcement said.
