In the early hours of July 5th, a situation that began as a jewelry store burglary escalated into an exchange of gunfire and a nearly four-hour standoff in Bloomington, Minnesota. According to a Facebook post by the Bloomington Police Department, their officers were initially tied up with the burglary report when Richfield Police were called to assist with other emergencies, including a suicide threat at a residence on the 8700 block of 12th Avenue South.
