A popular Roseville restaurant closed its doors over the weekend after eight years in business.

Brickyard Kitchen & Bar recently announced that Sunday was its last day of service at 1475 Eureka Road, Suite 120, noting the decision to close was made after careful consideration.

“We have loved being a part of the Roseville community and want to thank our patrons and community for supporting us throughout the years,” the restaurant wrote in a farewell message to its customers on Facebook.

“We could not have made it through COVID without you!” the team added.

The Sacramento-area business opened in 2016 as Hop House, rebranding roughly one year later as Backyard Kitchen & Bar.

As of Tuesday morning, restaurant representatives were not immediately available to comment on the recent closure.

What is Brickyard Kitchen & Bar? What was on the menu?

Brickyard Kitchen & Bar’s menu featured burgers, sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, salads and appetizers such as bacon-wrapped jalapeños and poke nachos.

The limited dessert list included beignets dusted with powdered sugar and apple crisp a la mode, warm apple tart with cream and toppings.

The eatery also pulled from a full bar of local craft beers and cocktails.

Brickyard Kitchen & Bar also prided itself as a community hub, inviting customers to mingle at weekly trivia and bingo nights.

Once a month, the restaurant hosted a brunch party that featured a DJ — described by Facebook commenters as an R&B or soul brunch.

The eatery also offered a list of incentives, from dinner and drink specials to free gift cards and live music.

“We love you guys to pieces,” restaurant representatives wrote on social media Saturday following the closure announcement, adding that they are “sending out good vibes for the next chapter of our lives.”

“We created a family and community. You helped us do just that,” the restaurant added.

Locals react to Roseville restaurant closing

On social media, locals reacted to the restaurant’s decision to close, sharing anecdotes about their go-to spot.

In a comment on Brickyard Kitchen & Bar’s post, Facebook user Jennifer Kirk said it’s “never good to see a small business close ... wishing you the best moving forward.”

Facebook user Lori Neuburger Howell called news of the closure “so very sad.

“We’ve so loved every visit we’ve had for so many years,” she wrote.

“As a longtime resident of Roseville, you will be missed, Facebook user Heather Winford added.

Is El Dorado Hills restaurant still open?

Brickyard Kitchen & Bar’s website lists a location in El Dorado Hills Town Center named Brickyard Counter & Bar.

That eatery is not closing its doors, according to Brickyard Kitchen & Bar.

Brickyard Counter & Bar, 4364 Town Center Blvd., Suite 128, features an expanded menu including macaroni and cheese platters, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads and barbecue entrees.

The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control site indicates that the similar-named restaurants are under different ownership.
