It’s Here! Final Steps for Multi-Million Dollar Project on Route 9
A massive project in the Hudson Valley is nearing completion, and it will allow pedestrians and cyclists on Route 9 access to New York City like never before. Across New York State, there are countless initiatives meant to encourage non-motorized travel. In the Mid-Hudson Valley, local organizations are hard at work to complete the connection of 60 miles of trails that would create a continuous path from Kingston, NY to Port Jervis, NY. The project further south, however, may be even more ambitious.

Michael Shvo can’t catch a minute’s peace. As we reported on June 27, he faces a $600 million lawsuit by the Core Club for an alleged, “sinister” fraud scheme involving the club’s location at 711 Fifth Ave. Shvo called the claim “a desperate attempt to bail out” the club’s owners from “binding agreements” — which according to him includes the club not repaying its debt and trying to block him from an option to acquire 50 percent of the company. NYC’s poorest ZIP codes forced to bear brunt of migrant crisis, confidential docs reveal
Some of the Big Apple’s poorest ZIP codes are being forced to bear the greatest brunt of the city’s migrant crisis — including a Queens neighborhood saddled with more shelters than any other part of the five boroughs, internal data kept from the public but obtained by The Post reveal. Long Island City is home to a staggering 23 government-run migrant shelters — 12% of the 193 operating in New York City, according to data tallied off a confidential list of shelter sites used by city agencies. “The city dropped a bomb on us,” said Queensbridge Houses resident Danny Beauford, whose...

City’s migrant debit-card spending balloons — as no-bid vendor rakes in a fortune
In June, I reported that after months of inactivity, City Hall had loaded up its migrant cash-debit cards with another nearly $1.1 million in taxpayer money. Days later, the Adams administration confirmed it: Gotham taxpayers will spend $2.6 million through the end of the year to add 7,300 families to the existing program, which has served about 900 families since March. The city considers that “pilot” successful — but still hasn’t released a whiff of data to prove it. Even if you think it’s a good idea to try giving migrants cash cards instead of direct aid for meals and other basics, the way Adams has gone about...
This Interactive Map Shows What NY Would Look Like If It Were Underwater
According to NASA Scientists NYC is sinking–an old study hypothesized it was due to the weight of its skyscrapers–and this (eerie) new interactive map shows us just what New York may soon look like due to rising sea levels. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently created a Sea Level Rise Viewer tool, which plays out different scenarios of how New York may look in the coming decades due to ocean levels rising. The tool looks as far as the year 2100. The tool allows you to explore different scenarios, such as what some local predictions are in specific areas.
