GREENVILLE — The Daily Advocate/The Early Bird is going home. The newspaper staff was displaced on January 19 when a pipe burst in the upper floor of their office bringing down a flood of water and destroying much of the inside of the office. Nearly six months after the damage occurred, the staff will be heading back to 100 Washington Ave., Greenville on Monday, July 1.

NEW MADISON, Ohio (WKEF) -- A World War II Navy navigator is back home in the Miami Valley. Harley Alexander was killed on the Destroyer USS Glennon 80 years ago. Alexander was welcomed back on Friday, June 28, and laid to rest on Saturday in New Madison where he was born.

City of Greenville Sidewalk Project – Phase II advertisement for bids
GREENVILLE – Sealed Bids for the construction of the Sidewalk Project – Phase II will be received by the City of Greenville, Ohio, at the office of the Board of Control, c/o Megan Bailey, 100 Public Square, Greenville, OH 45331, until 10:00 a.m. local time on July 23, 2024 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. This project will consist of the replacement of concrete sidewalk, drives, and curb ramps (demolition, construction and replacement of all soft/hard surfaces) along various streets within the City of Greenville, Ohio. Existing areas of deteriorated sidewalk will be replaced to as detailed in the exhibits to provide a safe traveling environment for pedestrians. Trees will also be removed along the project limits that have been determined to be a contributor to the sidewalk damage. The engineer’s estimate for this project is $221,849.00.
