These animals are racing at Penn National, and they’re not horses
GRANTVILLE COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Zebras, Camels, and Ostriches are hitting the track today at Penn National Race Course for one of the biggest racing events of the year. After nine years of hosting the event, Penn National is bringing zebras to the track. Thousands of attendees are set to watch these exotic animals compete alongside one another in one of the most unique racing events in the country.
Two new pickleball courts set to open in Pittsburgh area this week
MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) - For all of you pickleball enthusiasts in Westmoreland County, you're going to have a new spot to play starting on Saturday. Pickleball Harbor is set to open in Murrysville and the state-of-the-art facility on Mellon Road will feature six indoor courts, automatic line-calling, a pro shot, and training and coaching from professionals. A grand opening will be held on Sunday morning starting at 11 a.m. and as part of it, there will be $1,500 worth of pickleball gear up for grabs! Meanwhile, the owners of the Pickleball Warehouse in Homewood told KDKA they'll be hosting a soft opening on Monday and then a grand opening on the 20th. That's located on Hamilton Avenue. The Pickleball Warehouse will have full-sized courts, two "skinny" courts, a gear shop, a coffee bar, and a lounge.

Vanderbilt volleyball head coach Anders Nelson announced the addition of Elli Kinney and Jackie Moore to its roster Thursday. Kinney, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, spent her freshman year at the College of Charleston before transferring to Vandy. A 5-foot-8 libero, she appeared in all 19 matches of her debut season, making four starts as a defensive specialist. During nonconference play, Kinney recorded double digit digs in seven of eight matches, spending much of that time as the starting libero. She ended her freshman season with the Cougars ranked second on the team in digs (211), digs per set (3.6) and service aces (15).
