Your guide to the 2024 Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championships at Lake Wazeecha
GRAND RAPIDS – The Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championships will return to Lake Wazeecha’s Red Sands Beach for its 58th year. The championships will run July 18-21 at Lake Wazeecha in Grand Rapids, just outside of Wisconsin Rapids. Here’s what you should know as you make your weekend plans to see the shows.

Heartbreak in Wausau as Dock Spiders Take Game Two
Wausau, WI – The Dock Spiders defeated the Wausau Woodchucks, 4-1. It is just the fourth home loss of the season. Sebastian Escobar (Central Methodist University) made his NWL debut tonight for the Chucks. He went 5.0 innings pitched and struck out 5. He walked just two batters. David Brown (Oklahoma-Tonkawa) also made his debut tonight. Brown went 3.0 innings and struck out 3, allowing no runs and no walks.

Wausau, WI – The Woodchucks took game one of the home-and-home series against the Rafters today, 20-3. It is a new season high in runs scored for the Chucks. Edwin Alicea Made his sixth start of the season and picked up the win, throwing a season-high eight strikeouts across 5.0 innings. He only allowed three runs and walked no batters.

Instead of a hockey stick, each player has a mallet. One side is used to scoop the ball, while the other is used to hit it. The scooping side makes it more difficult for opponents to get to the ball.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - On ‘715 Night’ at Athletic Park, celebrating their area code, the Woodchucks returned home for the first time in over a week to defeat the Green Bay Rockers 12-4. Wausau got things going early with Edian Espinal’s two-run home run in the first inning. Fast forward to the top of the third, Adiel Melendez walked back-to-back Green Bay batters with the bases loaded each time to ultimately tie the game. The following frame, the Woodchucks jumped back ahead with Bryce Hubbard bringing in Espinal, who stole consecutive stolen bases just before, off a sacrifice RBI.
