City of Chamblee to host third annual Chalk Walk & Artist Market

Join the City of Chamblee for the third Annual Chalk Walk & Artist Market on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Chamblee City Hall. Thanks to grant funds from the Georgia Council for the Arts, this year’s free event will be its largest to date.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Chalk Walk & Artist Market back for its third year, bigger and better than ever,” said Teneisha Jones, Chamblee’s Public Arts Coordinator. “This event is a true celebration of art, and we hope you will join us for an unforgettable day in the heart of our city!”

Attendees will be wowed by professional chalk artists who will spend the day transforming the sidewalks of Chamblee City Hall into works of art. There will also be a live painter, a performance art stage and a Community Chalk Space for all artists to leave their mark.

The artist market will include more than 40 artist booths of fine art, pottery, sculptures, home décor, jewelry, clothing and more. While browsing through the artist booths, guests can take advantage of the City’s Open Container District by purchasing beer, wine and coffee from Chamblee Tap & Market, lunch from the El Patron and South End Smokehouse food trucks, and a sweet treat from King of Pops or Yummi Kotton.

Registration is currently underway for the Chalk Art Competition which will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sign-up to compete against other local creatives for prizes! All chalk supplies are included with your entry. Email arts@chambleega.gov for more information. The winners will be announced at 4:00 p.m.

Parking will be limited, so attendees are encouraged to ride MARTA or utilize rideshare options such as Uber or Lyft to the Chamblee Rideshare Park, located at 5374 Peachtree Road.
